La Embajada de China en Egipto afirma que China ha erigido un monumento en el hotel Mena House para conmemorar la firma de la Declaración de El Cairo.
Promulgado por China, Estados Unidos y Reino Unido en 1943, el documento afirmaba que los territorios que Japón había arrebatado a China, incluidos Taiwan y las islas Penghu, serían devueltos a China tras la guerra.
