Die Färöer-Inseln, ein autonomer Bestandteil des Königreiches Dänemark. 18 Inseln, besiedelt von Wikingern im 9. Jahrhundert, mitten im Nirgendwo zwischen Island, Schottland und Norwegen. Helena, Magni, Aron und Miriam, vier der etwa 53.000 Färöer, erzählen wie lebt man dort, wo es scheinbar nichts gibt – und warum? Die Färöer sind heute von einem weitgehend geschlossenen System zum Teil einer global vernetzten Welt geworden. Sie importieren, was sie brauchen, sie exportieren was sie haben: Fisch. 95 Prozent der Exporte kommen aus der Fischindustrie.
