Operasi dilakukan karena kakinya mengalami cedera saat masih aktif sebagai prajurit TNI.
Prabowo mengatakan, cedera pada kaki kirinya disebabkan karena kecelakaan saat melakukan aksi terjun payung.
Bahkan, kecelakaan itu terjadi sebanyak dua kali.
Meski sudah lama, Prabowo mengaku rasa sakit akibat cedera itu masih dirasakan hingga sekarang.
"Saya pernah mengalami dua kali kecelakaan terjun payung saat bertugas di TNI pada tahun 80-an di kaki kiri saya, cedera ini selama ini masih saya rasakan," tulis Prabowo di Instagram, Minggu (30/6/2024).
Hingga akhirnya Menteri Pertahanan tersebut menjalani operasi besar seminggu yang lalu.
Prabowo sadar tindakan medis yang dijalaninya penuh dengan risiko dan pertaruhan nyawa.
Namun, ia menekankan bahwa hal tersebut dilakukan demi bangsa dan negara.
Prabowo pun mengucapkan terima kasih kepada tim dokter yang sudah berhasil mengoperasi kaki kirinya.
Ia juga menyampaikan terima kasih kepada Presiden Jokowi karena sudah menjenguk dan memberikan doa kesembuhan.
