Janji itu disampaikan oleh Menteri Pertahanan Israel, Israel Katz pada Jumat (30/5).
Pernyataan menteri Israel itu disampaikan sehari setelah pemerintah mengumumkan pembentukan 22 pemukiman baru di wilayah Palestina.
Adapun pihak PBB sebelumnya sudah mengecam keras Israel di Tepi Barat.
Bahkan Tepi Barat dipandang sebagai hambatan utama bagi perdamaian abadi.
Namun Menteri Pertahanan Israel malah membuat janji bakal membangun negara Yahudi di Tepi Barat.
“Kertas itu akan dibuang ke tong sampah sejarah, dan Negara Israel akan berkembang dan makmur," klaim Katz.
Dilansir dari Tribunews.com, Israel diketahui telah menduduki Tepi Barat sejak 1967 lalu.
Israel telah membangun sekitar 160 pemukiman orang Yahudi sejak menduduki Tepi Barat.
