Sinopsis: En la Francia del siglo XVIII, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille, huérfano cuando era recién nacido en las calles de París, está solo en el mundo. Grenouille, un niño peculiar que rara vez habla, está alejado de los demás, pero ha sido bendecido con un don extraordinario. Su sentido del olfato es tan refinado, tan en sintonía con cada brizna de hierba y flor en flor, que resulta trágico cuando lo venden como servidumbre a una curtiduría a la edad de 13 años y está rodeado de los malos olores que acompañan su trabajo.
