Serangan itu melibatkan sekitar 200 roket dan 20 drone bermuatan bahan peledak.
The Times of Israel mengonfirmasi perwira yang tewas adalah Mayor Itay Galea (38).
Ia menjabat sebagai wakil komandan kompi di unit ke-8679 Brigade Lapis Baja Cadangan Yiftah.
Galea tewas setelah roket Hizbullah menghantam pangkalan Israel di Dataran Tinggi Golan.
Selain itu, roket juga melukai sedikitnya 11 tentara yang bertugas.
Dalam pernyataan resminya, Hizbullah mengakui serangan tersebut adalah balasan atas tewasnya Mohammad Nehme Nasser.
Ia merupakan komandan senior Hizbullah yang dibunuh Israel dalam serangan di Kota Tyre, Lebanon selatan sehari sebelumnya.
Adapun serangan balasan pada Kamis kemarin termasuk yang terbesar dalam sembilan bulan pertempuran.
Kehadiran roket Hizbullah memicu sirene peringatan berbunyi di sepanjang Israel utara.
Militer Israel mengklaim, beberapa roket berhasil dicegat oleh Iron Dome tanpa mengungkap dampak kerusakan di pangkalan.
