In den 1920er revolutionierte ein Kriminalkommissar in Berlin die Polizeiarbeit weltweit: Ernst Gennat. Er gründete die Mordinspektion im Polizeipräsidium am Alexanderplatz, systematisierte die Spurensicherung, erfand Mordauto und Mordkartei und brachte Verbrecher mit Witz und Empathie zum Geständnis. So löste Gennat nicht nur unglaublich viele Fälle und galt als der Sherlock Holmes seiner Zeit. Doch dann war er lange vergessen. In dieser Folge erzählt Kriminalhistorikerin Regina Stürickow, wie sie Gennats Akten im Archiv entdeckte und so dafür sorgte, dass der legendäre Polizist mit der ARD-Serie “Babylon Berlin” lange nach seinem Tod wieder berühmt wurde.
