Meski belum dikonfirmasi oleh Hamas, calon pengganti Sinwar kini sudah mulai diperbincangkan.
Dikutip dari Jerusalem Post pada Selasa (3/6/2025), sosok yang diprediksi akan menjadi pemimpin Hamas berikutnya adalah Izz Al Din Al Haddad.
Ia menjabat sebagai Kepala Brigade Izz Al Din Kota Gaza sejak 2021.
Jabatan lain yang diemban adalah Komandan Brigade Gaza Utara sejak 2023.
Al Haddad dilaporkan selamat dari enam upaya pembunuhan yang direncanakan Israel.
Namun, jika nanti ia terbunuh, tak ada lagi pejabat senior Hamas yang mampu mengordinasikan kesepakatan terkait sandera.
Sebab, Al Haddad selama ini ditugaskan untuk memastikan bahwa penyerahan sandera berjalan lancar.
Ia juga disebut punya hak veto atas proposal yang diajukan Utusan Timur Tengah Amerika Serikat (AS) Steve Witkoff.
Namun, Al Haddad memang jarang tampil di publik mengingat berpotensi dibunuh Israel.
Ia adalah orang terakhir yang bertahan dari lima komandan Hamas yang terbunuh.
