In 2029, a giant asteroid named Apophis will zoom past Earth, coming crazy close—closer than some satellites! Scientists say it won’t hit us (phew!), but the encounter could still be wild. The massive space rock, about 1,100 feet wide, might experience "asteroidquakes" due to Earth's gravity pulling on it. These quakes could shake up its surface, sending dust and debris flying into space. Astronomers are super excited because this could give them a rare chance to study how asteroids change over time.
