Percakapan tersebut dilakukan tak lama setelah insiden yang menewaskan tiga orang dan melukai sembilan lainnya pada Kamis, (17/7/2025).
Gereja Keluarga Kudus, satu-satunya gereja Katolik di Gaza, menjadi sasaran serangan militer Israel.
Saat kejadian, puluhan warga sipil tengah berlindung di dalam kompleks gereja, termasuk anak-anak dan lansia.
Gedung Putih menyampaikan bahwa Netanyahu telah mengakui serangan itu sebagai sebuah kesalahan.
Hal tersebut dikatakan langsung kepada Presiden Trump dalam percakapan via telepon.
Sekretaris Pers Gedung Putih, Karoline Leavitt, menyebut bahwa Trump tidak memberikan respons positif ketika pertama kali mengetahui kabar tersebut.
"Perdana Menteri menyatakan kepada Presiden bahwa itu adalah kesalahan," ujar Leavitt kepada awak media.
