Funcionaria golpea a periodista de CubaNet en la Isla y deberá pagar indemnización
El influencer y activista cubanoamericano Alex Otaola reaccionó durante su programa Hola! Ota-Ola a un incidente protagonizado por una funcionaria estatal en Cuba que agredió a un periodista independiente.Según denuncias difundidas en redes sociales y medios independientes, un reportero de CubaNet se encontraba grabando a una funcionaria vinculada al servicio estatal de distribución de agua mediante pipas cuando la mujer reaccionó violentamente. Durante el altercado, la funcionaria habría golpeado al periodista, derribado su teléfono móvil y provocado daños en el equipo.
Posteriormente, trascendió que las autoridades habrían ordenado que la funcionaria compensara económicamente al periodista por los daños ocasionados al dispositivo, una decisión que ha generado comentarios en redes sociales debido a lo inusual que resulta que un periodista independiente reciba este tipo de compensación tras una agresión.
En el programa, Otaola vinculó este hecho con el contexto político actual y con lo que considera intentos del régimen cubano de proyectar una imagen distinta ante la comunidad internacional, mientras continúan las denuncias de represión y control mediático dentro de la isla.
