Rajnath Singh LIVE: Rajnath Singh Praises Indian Army Athletes After Historic Glasgow Medal Haul

Indian Army athletes have delivered a major medal-winning performance at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2026, with 20 Army players representing India across five sports and securing 8 gold, 7 silver and 1 bronze medal. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh congratulated the athletes, calling them a source of pride for both the Indian Army and the entire country. He highlighted that the Army contingent contributed 41% of India’s total medals and 52% of its gold medals, while praising the dedication of the athletes, their families and coaches. Singh also urged the champions to carry this momentum into the upcoming Asian Games and Olympics, saying the same determination that makes the Army strong on the battlefield is helping Indian athletes excel on the sporting field.
