Kementerian Lingkungan Hidup dan Kehutanan (KLHK) menyebut, ada tiga hal yang memicu menurunnya kualitas udara yakni emisi kendaraan, pembakaran terbuka, serta kegiatan usaha atau industri.Dari data laman Iqair yang mengukur kualitas udara Kamis 27 Juni 2024 Jakarta masuk dalam kategori tidak sehat dengan indeks kualitas udara 152. Menurut Iqair kualitas udara yang baik itu apabila indeksnya berada antara 0 hingga 50.
Melihat kualitas udara Jakarta yang baik, Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno bahkan sampai menyarankan warga untuk menghindari berlibur di Jakarta.
