Sudan Accuses UAE of Supplying Weapons to Paramilitary RSF | Firstpost AfricaSudanese and UAE envoys clashed at the UN Security Council on Tuesday. The Sudanese government accused the UAE of fueling the civil war in the Northeast African country by providing weapons to a rival paramilitary force. However, The UAE dismissed the allegation as “ludicrous,” calling it “a shameful abuse by one of the warring parties. War erupted in April last year between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) over a transition to free elections. Over 15,000 civilians have been killed and nearly half of Sudan's 49 million people require humanitarian aid.
