El perdón que nunca nos enseñaron | Constanza Leyva Fernández | TEDxLas Hayas College Youth
In this talk, I want to explore why learning to forgive ourselves is one of the most important and least taught emotional skills from a young age. We grow up knowing how to ask others for forgiveness and how to apologize to them, but without the tools to deal with mistakes and disappointment when we are the ones who fail. Through personal reflection and common experiences as human beings, I show how self-imposed pressure and the need to avoid mistakes lead us to punish ourselves internally, confusing our errors with our efforts. My talk proposes a shift in perspective toward ourselves, showing that simply making mistakes doesn't define us, but rather is part of the process of growing and learning from them. My name is Constanza Leyva Fernández, I'm 16 years old, and I'm in my fourth semester of high school. I consider myself passionate about art, science, communication, and personal growth. From a young age, I've had a great passion for speaking as a way to understand myself, connect with others, and as a form of expression. I have a strong interest in medicine, which is the career I'd like to pursue in the future. I'm also interested in languages and education.Currently, I'm the Academic Secretary for the seventh edition of HAYAS MUN, where I can express my thoughts, contribute ideas, and learn about new events in the world every day. When I speak in public, I mainly focus on the importance of awareness, empathy, and finding and defending your own voice. My goal is to create spaces where we can reflect on the fact that youth isn't just a phase, but a time when we can make a real impact. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx Receive SMS online on sms24.me
