Un impianto all'avanguardia mondiale. È così che si presenta lo stadio del Fondo Lago di Tesero, in Val di Fiemme, sede durante le Olimpiadi Invernali Milano-Cortina 2026 (qui i video di tutte le strutture) delle gare di fondo e combinata nordica per le Olimpiadi e di fondo e biatlhon per le Paralimpiadi.
«Le piste sono state modificate per adeguarsi agli standard olimpici e sono stati eseguiti lavori importanti creando salite con dislivelli significativi. Ci sono più tecnicismi lungo il tracciato perché gli atleti sono il top mondiale. In totale sono 19km di piste che si snodano tra la piana davanti alle tribune e il bosco» spega Alessanro Zorzi, direttore delle piste dello stadio del fondo Lago di Tesero. In aggiunta a questi lavori è stata rimessa mano all'impianto di innevamento tutto sottoterra, i cui lavori verranno terminati entro la fine dell'estate 2025.
«Lavori di ammodernamento che - spiega Pietro De Godens, presidente Comitato NordicSki Val di Fiemme - hanno comportato un aumento di costi dai 12 milioni e mezzo previsti inizialmente a 22 milioni di euro. Sono stati creati spogliatoi e cabine di sciolinatura che erano precari, una nuova area atleti con scalinata che sale direttamente in pista e che rende l'impianto di Lago di Tesero un'eccellenza europea e mondiale». Investimenti che non sono finalizzati sono alla realizzazione delle strutture nuove, ma che toccano - a livello più allargato - il turismo, l'ospitalità e residenti e turisti che frequentano la valle: «Vorremmo rendere questo stadio una paelstra a cielo aperto» commenta Marisa Giacomuzzi, venue manager dello stadio del Fondo Lago di Tesero.
