О нем недаром говорят — озеро с характером. Это Ильмень.
Оно находится в западной части Новгородской области и занимает восьмое место в рейтинге крупнейших озер Европы.
Некоторые ученые связывают его название со словом «ил», имея ввиду многометровую толщу ила на Ильменском дне. Но больше распространена версия, что Ильмень — слово финно-угорское и раньше в летописях писали « Илмер», что переводится как « озеро, делающее погоду». Это вполне соответствует действительности: Ильмень и вправду во многом определяет погоду здешних мест.
Рыболовной столицей Ильменя считается старинное село Взвад. Ведущая фильма Надежда Лебедева увидит, как жители села ходят на рыбалку, сама забросит удочку, а также прикоснется к геологическому памятнику под названием Ильменскому глинт — самому протяженному обнажению слоев девонского периода на Русской равнине.
