Menurut konsul jenderal Israel di Shanghai, Ravit Baer, Beijing adalah satu-satunya negara yang mampu memengaruhi Teheran.
Dikutip dari Al Arabiya pada Rabu (2/7/2025), Baer menyebut eratnya hubungan China dan Iran disebabkan oleh perdagangan minyak.
Menurutnya, Teheran bisa runtuh jika minyaknya tidak dibeli oleh Beijing.
"China adalah satu-satunya yang mampu memengaruhi Iran. Iran akan runtuh jika China tidak membeli minyaknya," ujar Baer.
Lebih lanjut, Baer mengakui bahwa Iran meraup keuntungan besar dari hasil penjualan minyak.
Namun, ia menyayangkan uang tersebut digunakan untuk mendanai kelompok-kelompok di Timur Tengah yang menjadi ancaman bagi Israel.
Baik China maupun Rusia sama-sama mengutuk Israel atas serangan ke Iran pada Juni lalu, namun keduanya tidak dapat berbuat banyak untuk mendukung Teheran.
Beijing juga secara konsisten menyerukan Israel untuk mengakhiri konfliknya di Gaza melawan Hamas dan mengambil langkah-langkah menuju solusi dua negara bagi Palestina.
China sendiri membeli 90 persen dari ekspor minyak Iran sekitar 1,7 juta barel per hari.
Selain itu, Beijing menandatangani kemitraan strategis pada tahun 2021 yang menguraikan potensi investasi Tiongkok senilai US$400 miliar selama 25 tahun di Iran.
