IP68, IP69… est-ce que votre smartphone est vraiment étanche ? 💦On voit aujourd’hui des téléphones annoncés IP68, voire IP69, avec des promesses impressionnantes : immersion dans l’eau, résistance aux projections, jets à haute pression et même, sur certains modèles, de l’eau jusqu’à 80 °C.
Mais quand on commence à lire les petites lignes, ça devient beaucoup plus intéressant.
Dans cette vidéo, on va voir simplement :

Samsung indique par exemple pour ses Galaxy S26 une résistance IP68 jusqu’à 1,5 m d’eau douce pendant 30 minutes, tout en précisant que cette résistance peut diminuer avec le temps et qu’il faut éviter notamment eau salée, eau chlorée et forte pression.
Google va encore plus loin : ses appareils Pixel IP68 sont certifiés ainsi en sortie d’usine, mais Google précise explicitement qu’ils ne sont pas étanches et que la résistance peut diminuer après une chute, une réparation, un démontage ou simplement avec l’usure.
Et avec l’IP69, ça devient encore plus étonnant : OPPO annonce sur l’A6 5G des certifications IP66 + IP68 + IP69, avec notamment une immersion à 1,5 m pendant 30 minutes et des jets d’eau pouvant atteindre environ 80 °C. Pourtant, OPPO précise aussi que certains dommages dus à l’immersion ne sont pas couverts par la garantie.
👉 La règle simple à retenir : IP68, c’est l’airbag de votre smartphone contre l’eau. Pas un permis de plongée.
