STUTTGART: Friedrich Merz nach stundenlanger Verzögerung zum CDU-Parteichef wiedergewähltDie CDU hat ihren Vorsitzenden Friedrich Merz beim Parteitag in Stuttgart mit einem überraschend guten Ergebnis für zwei Jahre wiedergewählt. Für den 70-Jährigen stimmten 878 Delegierte. Es gab 85 Nein-Stimmen und 14 Enthaltungen. Die CDU, die anders als andere Parteien Enthaltungen nicht wertet, errechnete daraus ein Ergebnis von 91,17 Prozent. Enthaltungen mitgerechnet, betrug das Ergebnis 89,87 Prozent.
Merz erreichte damit sein bisher zweitbestes Ergebnis als Parteivorsitzender. 2022 war er bei einem Online-Parteitag mit 94,6 Prozent der Stimmen gewählt und später mit 95,3 Prozent per Briefwahl bestätigt worden. 2024 kam er auf 89,8 Prozent.
