Untungnya, Thailand memberikan respon yang cepat atas ketertinggalan tersebut.
Bek Thailand Phuriphan berhasil menanduk bola yang sempat dihalau keluar oleh pemain Veitnam dalam skema sepak pojok (63').
Namun imbas gol tersebut, Phuriphan harus langsung ditarik keluar karena mendapatkan benturan di area wajah.
Phuriphan tak sengaja bertabrakan dengan salahsatu pemain Veitnam saat hendak menanduk bola.
Di akhir pertandingan, akhirnya pihak Thailand berhasil mendapatkan gol kemenangan atas Vietnam.
Ialah Chaiwat Ngoenma, pemain Akademi Bayern Munchen yang berhasil mengamankan kemenangan comeback tim Gajah Perang.
Chaiwat Ngoenma berhasil menyepak bola setelah menerima umpan cutback dari sisi kiri penyerangan (90+2').
Akhirnya Chaiwat Ngoenma menjadi sosok pembeda untuk mengukir kemenangan 1-2 atas Vietnam.
Dengan demikian, Thailand berhak melaju ke partai final Piala AFF U16 2024.
Ini menjadi ajang comeback bagi Thailand setelah terakhir kali menembus partai final pada edisi 2018 lalu.
Di laga final mendatang, tim Gajah Perang masih menunggu lawan antara Timnas Indonesia dan Australia.
Duel Timnas Indonesia vs Australia akan kick-off malam ini jam 19.30 WIB.
