Namun tidak hanya akibat pandemi, persoalan imunisasi juga disebabkan adanya disinformasi termasuk keengganan orangtua untuk mengimunisasi anak mereka. Selain sosialisasi melalui kader di tingkat Posyandu, Kementerian Kesehatan pun melibatkan tokoh agama agar orangtua bersedia anaknya diimunisasi. Organisasi Kesehatan Dunia (WHO) menargetkan cakupan imunisasi 95% untuk mencapai kekebalan komunal.

Pemerintah urgen kampanye imunisasi massal intensif di daerah-daerah dengan cakupan rendah.
