Ia tertangkap sedang mengambil foto area evakuasi di Ban Dan, Distrik Kap Choeng, sambil mengendarai sepeda motor.
Pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa Virak masuk secara legal ke Thailand pada 23 Juni dan izinnya berlaku hingga 21 Agustus 2025.
Virak mengaku foto tersebut diambil untuk dikirim ke saudara perempuannya di Kamboja, bukan untuk pejabat negara.
Di ponselnya ditemukan juga video dari Pasar Chong Chom dan sekitarnya.
Sepeda motor yang digunakannya diketahui milik manajer pasar tempat Virak bekerja.
Petugas melibatkan tim militer dan administrasi lokal dalam penyelidikan lanjutan.
Pihak berwenang menyatakan ada keraguan terhadap keterangan yang diberikan Virak.
Motif pengambilan gambar masih diselidiki secara mendalam.
Hingga kini kasus ini menambah sensitivitas di tengah ketegangan Thailand-Kamboja.
