Menurutnya, kata tersebut berkonotasi negatif dan sebaiknya cukup disebut “Makan Bergizi” tanpa embel-embel gratis.
Ia menilai niat pemerintah dalam program ini mulia karena bertujuan meningkatkan kualitas gizi dan kecerdasan anak bangsa.
Pernyataan itu disampaikan Irma dalam Rapat Kerja Komisi IX DPR RI bersama BGN, Menteri Kesehatan, hingga BPOM di kompleks parlemen, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat, Rabu (1/10/2025).
"Makan bergizi saja. Tidak usah pake gratis karena konotasinya negatif. Karena apa? Karena niat dari presiden, niat dari pemerintah, memberikan ini kepada anak-anak bangsa ini adalah niat yang sangat baik. Yang sangat mulia untuk anak-anak bangsa ini punya IQ yang lebih tinggi dari yang ada sekarang," ujarnya.
Selain soal frasa, Irma juga mengkritisi masalah teknis dalam pelaksanaan MBG.
Ia menyinggung penyalahgunaan Sertifikat Laik Higiene Sanitasi (SLHS) yang kerap disalahgunakan melalui praktik jual beli.
Menurutnya, hal ini bisa mengancam kualitas layanan gizi bagi anak-anak.
Irma mengingatkan pentingnya melibatkan tenaga ahli dalam pengelolaan Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi (SPPG).
Tenaga tersebut harus memahami secara detail tata kelola katering dan keamanan pangan.
