Debatte um Bürgergeld im Haushalt 2026: Bas verteidigt Bürgergeld – Merz fordert Einsparungen

Im Bundestag endet am Freitag die erste Beratung über den Haushaltsentwurf für das Jahr 2026. Mittelpunkt: der Etat für Arbeit und Soziales von Ministerin Bas. Veranschlagt sind dafür rund 197 Milliarden Euro, also ist das der größte Posten. Beim Bürgergeld will die Regierung einsparen. Kanzler Merz rechnet mit Einsparungspotenzial in Höhe von 5 Milliarden Euro. Wie das gelingen soll, das ist noch unklar. Dazu soll es Gespräche zwischen Merz und Bas geben, das hat die Sozialministerin am Freitag bei ihrer Rede im Bundestag deutlich gemacht.
