La crisi dell'industria tedesca, di cui vi avevo parlato, e il rischio di una deindustrializzazione che colpisce le aree rurali e provinciali sono ormai un tema importante perché la Germania è, come sapete, da sempre il cuore dell'Europa. Non si tratta di una semplice fase negativa ma di una minaccia dell'assetto produttivo della Germania.

Infatti il benessere diffuso della Germania si è storicamente fondato su una fitta rete di distretti industriali ad alta specializzazione, e quindi la Germania in realtà è fatta da un universo di piccole e medie imprese locali in grado di mantenere e conquistare posizioni dominanti nei mercati dell'industria manifatturiera. Oggi sono proprio queste realtà periferiche, dove l'industria impiega oltre un quarto degli occupati, che affrontano una fase di forte stagnazione e contrazione degli ordinativi.
