LIVE: DFB-Pressekonferenz – was plant Jürgen Klopp als Bundestrainer?

Kurz nach der für Deutschland enttäuschend verlaufenen Fußballweltmeisterschaft der Männer will der Deutsche Fußballbund (DFB) heute in einer Pressekonferenz in Frankfurt am Main einen neuen Bundestrainer vorstellen. Nachfolger von Ex-Nationaltrainger Julian Nagelsmann soll der 59 Jahre alte Jürgen Klopp werden, der von Anfang an als Favorit für den Posten galt. Zuletzt fehlte nur noch die Zustimmung der Gremien zu seiner Verpflichtung.

Deutschland war bei der Weltmeisterschaft in den USA, Kanada und Mexiko im Sechzehntelfinale gegen Paraguay ausgeschieden. Ursprüngliches Ziel des DFB war, um den Titel mitzuspielen. Klopp war bis 2024 Trainer des englischen Spitzenklubs FC Liverpool, davor hatte er in Deutschland Borussia Dortmund und den FSV Mainz trainiert. Zuletzt arbeitete Klopp für den Red-Bull-Konzern bei dessen internationalen Fußballaktivitäten.
