Noem’s remarks followed Trump’s authorization to deploy 300 members of the Illinois national guard to Chicago, with orders to protect federal officers and property. Meanwhile, President Trump’s crackdown resulted in protests in several US cities over the weekend after border patrol agents on Saturday shot and injured a woman while firing at someone who tried to run them over.---
