Shown here are various emergency response vehicles from several districts in Brandenburg during a large-scale wildfire exercise that took place on April 18, 2026, across two Brandenburg districts. Right on the border between the districts of Ostprignitz-Ruppin and Oberhavel, nearly 800 emergency personnel trained for a real-life wildfire scenario.
The response units were most visible to residents in the towns of Rüthnick and Sommerfeld. However, the main part of the exercise took place in the Rüthnicker Heide forest area. At several stations throughout the forest, specialized wildfire equipment and tactics were demonstrated and explained to the crews. In addition to a Federal Police helicopter and HFS systems from various districts, the newly introduced wildfire fighting tanks of the state of Brandenburg were also on site. A separate video about these vehicles is already available here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZDq7o885LNQ&t=501s
Several unique emergency vehicles can also be seen, many of which previously served with other fire departments in Germany. Examples include a former LHF from the Berlin Fire Department and a former HLF from the Stuttgart Professional Fire Department.
Of course, there are also some classic East German vehicles featured, such as an IFA W50 and an older GTLF based on a Tatra chassis. Receive SMS online on sms24.me
