150 Bangladeshi nationals flown out of Jammu & Kashmir on an Indian Air Force aircraft — and this could be just the beginning. The J&K administration has started a major deportation exercise targeting foreign nationals allegedly staying illegally in the Union Territory.

The development comes amid a wider verification drive in Jammu & Kashmir to identify foreign nationals allegedly living without lawful authorization. According to the Indian Express report, around 500 people, mostly from Bangladesh, were detained during the exercise. Some of those detained are also reported to be Rohingya from Myanmar, raising questions about whether further deportation drives could follow.
