Irán afirma que tiene el derecho inherente de preservar la paz y seguridad en el estrecho de Ormuz

El embajador de Irán ante las Naciones Unidas afirmó que Teherán tiene lo que calificó como "derecho inherente" a preservar la paz y la seguridad en el estrecho de Ormuz. Amir Saeid Iravani declaró a los periodistas que la situación actual en la región, incluido el estrecho, es consecuencia directa de las acciones desestabilizadoras de Estados Unidos al lanzar una agresión contra Irán y socavar la seguridad regional.
En tanto, el viceministro de Relaciones Exteriores de Irán, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, afirmó que Teherán ha permitido a buques de algunos países cruzar el estrecho de Ormuz, al tiempo que aclaró que la república islámica no está colocando minas en este estratégico paso de la región, y ha desmentido esos informes calificándolos de falsos.
En respuesta a las declaraciones de Teherán sobre Ormuz, el secretario de Energía de EE. UU., Chris Wright, aseguró que la Marina estadounidense podría estar pronto en condiciones de escoltar a los petroleros a través de esta importante vía marítima, pero subrayó que aún no está preparada para hacerlo.
