Sumpah ini muncul di tengah ketegangan kedua kubu yang dikhawatirkan akan pecah menjadi perang besar.
Penasihat urusan luar negeri Iran Kamal Kharrazi mengatakan bahwa Iran sebenarnya tidak tertarik pada perang regional.
Ia bahkan mendesak Amerika Serikat (AS) untuk menekan Israel guna mencegah ekskalasi semacam itu.
Namun jika Israel nekat menyerang Lebanon, maka seluruh kekuatan akan memberi dukungan terhadap Hizbullah.
Mulai dari anggota poros perlawanan, rakyat Lebanon, hingga negara-negara di kawasan Arab.
Kharrazi mengatakan, Iran tidak punya pilihan selain mendukung Hizbullah melawan Israel.
"Dalam situasi itu, kami tidak punya pilihan selain mendukung Hizbullah dengan segala cara," kata Kharrazi, dikutip dari Financial Times, Rabu (3/7/2024).
Diketahui ketegangan antara kedua kubu telah meningkat dalam beberapa waktu terakhir.
Kondisi ini bahkan sampai mendapat perhatian khusus dari Sekjen PBB, Antonio Gutteres.
Ia memperingatkan jika Israel dan Hizbullah berperang, maka akan mengakibatkan bencana besar.
Dalam pidatonya, Gutteres tak ingin Lebanon bernasib sama seperti Gaza Palestina.
