USA: "Alligator Alcatraz" schreckt ab! Donald Trumps knallharte Migrationspolitik kommt wohl gut an!US-Präsident Donald Trump hat vor der Eröffnung einer Haftanstalt für Migranten in einem Sumpfgebiet im Bundesstaat Florida augenzwinkernd vor Fluchtversuchen gewarnt. Ausbrecher müssten wissen, wie man Alligatoren entkommt. Wer fliehen wolle, müsse lernen, richtig wegzulaufen, sagte der Republikaner auf Nachfrage in Washington – und malte mit der Hand ein Zickzack-Muster in die Luft: «Lauft nicht geradeaus. Lauft so – dann steigen eure Chancen um etwa ein Prozent.»
Ein Reporter hatte ihn zuvor gefragt, ob die Idee hinter der neuen Haftanstalt sei, dass flüchtende Migranten von Alligatoren oder Schlangen gefressen würden. Trump antwortete: «Ich schätze, das ist das Konzept. Das ist kein nettes Geschäft.» Schlangen seien schnell, sagte er weiter und ging dann auf das Wegrennen vor Alligatoren ein.
Der Präsident machte die Bemerkungen, bevor er sich auf den Weg nach Florida machte, um dort an der Eröffnung der Haftanstalt teilzunehmen. Die Anlage liegt im Herzen der Everglades – der größten subtropischen Wildnis der Vereinigten Staaten. Die US-Regierung bezeichnet das Gefängnis informell als «Alligator Alcatraz».
