Ribuan warga New York turun ke jalan memprotes kehadiran Netanyahu di kotanya pada Jumat (26/9).
Salah satu peserta aksi bernama Al Sharif Nassef mengatakan kehadiran Netanyahu di New York merupakan hal yang memalukan.
Nassef mengatakan Netanyahu seharusnya berada di Den Haag untuk diadili Mahkamah Pidana Internasional (ICC) atas kejahatan perang yang telah ia lakukan di Gaza.
Ia menyebut semua warga New York yang melakukan aksi demo mendukung penuh penangkapan Netanyahu.
"Semua warga New York yang hadir di sini hari ini mendukung penangkapannya. Dia tidak diterima di sini," ujar Nassef kepada Al Jazeera.
Sementara itu pendemo lainnya bernama Meagan Fredette merasa jijik sebagai warga New York karena Netanyahu ada di kotanya.
Ia mengaku marah dan malu karena Netanyahu menginjakan kaki di New York.
Menurut Fredette, Netanyahu tidak pantas berada di New York karena merupakan seorang buronan internasional.
"Saya merasa marah. Memalukan dia ada di sini. Dia tidak pantas berada di sini," ujarnya kepada Al Jazeera.
Adapun pendemo di New York mengibarkan bendera Palestina dan meneriakan "bebaskan Palestina".
Mereka juga mengkritik kebijakan Israel yang melarang masuknya bantuan ke Gaza.
Menurut mereka, aksi blokade Gaza yang dilakukan Israel membuat bencana kelaparan mematikan di wilayah Palestina. (Tribun-Video.com)
