Hal ini buntut digugurkannya status tersangka Pegi Setiawan karena kurangnya alat bukti.
Selain itu, Surawan disorot karena menganulir putusan pengadilan soal dua DPO kasus Vina.
Adapun Kombes Surawan menjabat sebagai Dirreskrimum Polda Jabar sejak Juni 2023.
Surawan merupakan lulusan Akpol tahun 1995 dan berpengalaman di bidang reserse.
Ia satu angkatan dengan Kabid Humas Polda Jabar Kombes Jules Abraham Abast hingga Kadiv Humas Polri Irjen Pol Sandi Nugroho.
Sebelum ke Polda Jabar, Surawan tercatat pernah menjabat sejumlah posisi strategis.
Seperti Kapolres Bantul pada tahun 2013 hingga 2015, kemudian Wakapolres Metro Jakarta Selatan, Dirreskrimum Polda Riau.
Kemudian Surawan pernah ditempatkan di Bareskrim Polri sebagai Penyidik Madya unit V Dit II/Eksus, lalu Analis Kebijakan Madya bidang Pidum dan Penyidik Utama Tk II Rowassidik.
Tahun 2022, Surawan ditempatkan di Polda Bali sebagai Dirreskrimum hingga akhirnya dipindah ke Polda Jabar.
Berdasarkan LHKPN tahun 2023, Kombes Surawan tercatat memiliki total harta kekayaan mencapai Rp 960 juta.
