Otoritas keamanan Arab Saudi mengamankan 269.678 orang tanpa izin haji resmi untuk masuk kota suci Mekkah, jelang puncak ibadah haji tahun ini.Langkah ini merupakan bagian tegas kerajaan untuk memastikan keselamatan dan kelancaran pelaksanaan haji. Direktur Keamanan Publik dan Ketua Komite Keamanan Haji Arab Saudi, Letnan Jenderal Mohammed Al-Bassami dalam jumpa pers Minggu kemarin, mengatakan pemerintah berkomitmen menindak tegas pelanggaran aturan haji.
Dia mengungkapkan, jemaah haji dalam pengawasan ketat dan siapa pun yang melanggar akan ditindak. Tercatat hingga kemarin, lebih dari 23.000 penduduk lokal telah dikenai sanksi dan lisensi dari 400 perusahaan penyedia layanan haji telah dicabut karena pelanggaran.
Otoritas Saudi juga untuk pertama kalinya menggunakan teknologi drone untuk pemantauan pergerakan jemaah dan pengendalian kebakaran selama musim haji. Langkah ini diambil untuk meningkatkan efisiensi dan respons terhadap potensi ancaman atau insiden di lapangan.
Sebagai informasi, 911 adalah pusat operasi keamanan nasional terpadu. Call center mereka melayani berbagai pengaduan secara nonstop 24 jam dan mengolah informasi untuk ditindaklanjuti.
Otoritas Saudi telah melarang 97.664 kendaraan yang melanggar aturan memasuki Mekkah. Selain itu, menolak 171.587 penduduk non-Mekkah masuk dan menangkap 4.032 pelanggar aturan haji.
