Bos Air India itu mengungkap bahwa mesin kanan pesawat merupakan unit baru yang dipasang pada Maret 2025.
Dikutip dari Kompas pada Jumat (20/6), mesin Air India bagian kiri terakhir kali menjalani servis pada 2023 dan dijadwalkan perawatan berikutnya pada Desember 2025.
Chandrasekaran menyebut banyak spekulasi mengenai penyebab jatuhnya pesawat yang tengah menuju Inggris itu.
Namun, ia menekankan bahwa pesawat tersebut memiliki riwayat operasional yang bersih.
"Fakta yang saya ketahui sejauh ini adalah pesawat khusus ini, memiliki riwayat yang bersih," kata Chandrasekaran.
Ia mengimbau agar publik tidak mengambil kesimpulan sebelum hasil penyelidikan resmi dirilis.
Menurutnya, kotak hitam dan perekam data penerbangan akan mengungkapkan fakta sesungguhnya terkait kecelakaan.
Air India juga turut menegaskan pesawat telah dirawat secara rutin, dengan pemeriksaan besar terakhir pada Juni 2023.
Mantan penyidik Biro Investigasi Kecelakaan Pesawat India, Kishore Chinta, mengatakan bahwa usia mesin tidak selalu mencerminkan kondisinya, terutama pada tipe Genx-1B.
Mesin Genx-1B buatan GE Aerospace menggunakan sistem Full Authority Digital Engine Control yang memantau kesehatan mesin secara digital.
Adapun Chinta menambahkan beberapa komponen mesin, dikenal sebagai *Life Limited Parts* (LLP), memiliki batas usia penggunaan tertentu antara 15.000 hingga 20.000 siklus penerbangan. (Tribun-Video.com/Kompas.com)
