Alih-alih membuktikan tuduhan, mereka kini berpotensi dipidana berat atas dugaan fitnah dan pencemaran nama baik.
Dikutip dari Surya.co.id, Rabu (11/6/2025), pernyataan itu disampaikan pengacara kondang, Razman Arif Nasution.
Razman menilai, jika kasus ini berlanjut tanpa pembuktian kuat dari pihak pelapor, Roy Suryo Cs terancam hukuman hingga 4 tahun penjara.
“Pasal itu kan ada pengembangan, tidak hanya fitnah, ada ujaran kebencian, pencemaran nama baik. Kalau itu akumulasi, bisa berat, bisa 4 tahun penjara,” ungkapnya.
Menurutnya, rekonsiliasi bisa terjadi jika pihak penuding datang meminta maaf, namun jika tetap ngotot, kasus ini bisa berakhir di pengadilan.
Ia menegaskan, tuduhan yang dilontarkan menyangkut pasal fitnah, pencemaran nama baik, dan ujaran kebencian yang bisa diperberat.
Tak hanya di dalam negeri, isu ini juga jadi sorotan internasional karena melibatkan nama besar Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
Bahkan Razman mengaku rekannya dari Malaysia sampai menanyakan kebenaran isu ijazah Jokowi yang terus bergulir.
Sementara itu, Penasihat Ahli Kapolri, Irjen Pol (Purn) Aryanto Sutadi, menilai langkah Roy Suryo salah lantaran bukti dari penelitian tak resmi belum tentu sah di pengadilan.
Ia mengingatkan bahwa tuduhan tanpa dasar justru bisa menjadi bumerang hukum bagi penuding.
