Video yang diterbitkan media pemerintah Iran, Tasnim pada Rabu (23/7/2025) memperlihatkan momen saat helikopter Angkatan Laut Iran menjangkau visual kapal perusak AS USS Fitzgerald.
Iran mengklaim kapal tersebut berlayar di dekat teritorialnya, tepatnya di Teluk Oman.
Kemudian terdengar bunyi peringatan agar USS Fitzgerald mengubah arah.
Bagi Iran, aktivitas yang dilakukan kapal perusak AS merupakan tindakan provokatif.
Kapal perusak itu dilaporkan pergi menjauh setelah mendapat peringatan terus menerus.
Namun, seorang pejabat Pentagon mengatakan kepada surat kabar Al Arabiya bahwa USS Fitzgerald masih berada pada jalur perairan internasional.
Ia pun membantah klaim Iran bahwa kapal perusaknya mengubah arah setelah diberi peringatan terus-menerus.
Pejabat itu menegaskan bahwa interaksi dengan helikopter "Sea King" Iran berlangsung aman dan profesional.
Menurut Pentagon, klaim yang dibuat Iran adalah sebuah kebohongan dan informasinya menyesatkan.
