Mahathir datang bersama putrinya, Marina Mahathir, dan rombongan.
Berdasarkan pantauan Tribun Solo, Jokowi menjemput Mahathir di Bandara Adi Sucipto sekitar 10.53 WIB.
Lalu mereka tiba di kediaman sekitar pukul 11.51 WIB.
Mantan Ibu Negara Iriana Jokowi ikut menyambut kedatangan mantan orang nomor satu di Malaysia tersebut.
Mereka sempat berbincang di ruang tamu sekitar 10 menit.
Mereka berbincang ringan membahas kegiatan sehari-hari.
Termasuk Jokowi yang menceritakan aktivitasnya setelah purnatugas dari jabatan Presiden, seperti menyambut warga yang mengunjunginya di rumah dan sesekali menghadiri undangan sejumlah pihak di Jakarta.
Setelah itu mereka beranjak ke ruang makan untuk menikmati sejumlah kudapan khas Solo mulai dari onde-onde, pastel Solo, sosis hingga teh hangat.
Sambil berbincang mereka menikmati lantunan musik keroncong.
Salah satu lagu yang dilantunkan yakni lagu legendaris ciptaan maestro keroncong Gesang, Bengawan Solo.
Mereka berdua berencana akan mengunjungi Masjid Raya Sheikh Zayed dan Solo Safari.
Kedua tempat ini menjadi ikon wisata saat Gibran Rakabuming Raka menjabat sebagai wali kota Solo.
