You're Not Behind. You're Untrained. | Salem Alonge | TEDxUTA
What if feeling behind has nothing to do with your ability? In this talk, Salem Alonge breaks down the difference between collecting achievements and actually growing. Drawing from her own experience of graduating early, moving countries, and being the youngest in every room she walked into, she unpacks why high achievers still feel like they're falling short and what it actually takes to close that gap.
The answer is not more talent. It is not better timing. It is a process nobody handed you.
Salem Alonge is a Computer Science student at the University of Texas at Arlington and the President of the Society of Women Engineers at UTA. She has directed media and production at her church since 2020, taught STEM to kids, led robotics workshops, and was nominated for the 2022 Wilbur Honors Award for community leadership. She has been the youngest person in the room her entire life and has spent her career turning that into something.
