Laporan terbaru dari pihak berwenang menyatakan bahwa bahan untuk pembuatan bom ditemukan di mobil pelaku. Bahan serupa juga ditemukan di kediaman pelaku di Bethel Park, Pennsylvania.
Biro Investigasi Federal (FBI) mengkategorikan bahan bom tersebut sebagai 'belum sempurna'. Menurut sumber yang dikutip oleh CBS News, bahan bom itu tengah diteliti di laboratorium FBI di Quantico, Virginia.
Informasi ini dikonfirmasi oleh Presiden klub menembak tersebut, Bill Sellitto, yang mengatakan bahwa pelaku adalah anggota Clairton Sportsmen's Club.
