The resolution was backed by 93 countries, while 18 opposed it, including, surprisingly, the United States. Washington isn’t just stepping away from Ukraine; it’s also moving closer to Russia. Meanwhile, overall international support for Kyiv has declined compared to a similar UN resolution in March 2022. Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that, at this stage, Russia and the US will discuss the way forward. In the midst of these developments, Russia launched a massive aerial assault this morning on Ukraine, firing seven missiles and deploying 213 drones.
