Diketahui, aktivis lingkungan tersebut mendapatkan perlakuan buruk dari Israel.
Menurut beberapa saksi mata dan sesama aktivis, Greta mengalami penganiayaan selama ditahan.
Greta dipukul hingga dipaksa mencium bendera Israel.
Namun, wanita muda asal Swedia itu tetap teguh dengan pendiriannya.
"Saya tidak takut pada Israel. Saya takut pada dunia yang tampaknya telah kehilangan rasa kemanusiaannya," kata Greta Thunberg beberapa waktu lalu.
"Dan apa yang kami lakukan di sini adalah mencoba menunjukkan bahwa masih ada sedikit rasa kemanusiaan yang tersisa. Bahwa masih ada orang yang bersedia maju ketika semua cara lain gagal. Namun ini adalah pilihan terakhir" tambah Greta.
Aktivis Turki Ursen Celich menambahkan dia diseret rambutnya dan dipukuli dan bahkan dipaksa mencium bendera yang diduga sebagai peringatan bagi aktivis lainnya.
Menurut Kementerian Luar Negeri Swedia, Thunberg ditahan di sel yang dipenuhi kutu busuk dengan makanan dan air yang tidak mencukupi dan dipaksa duduk untuk
waktu yang lama di permukaan yang keras.
Di lain sisi, Israel membantah semua tuduhan dan menyatakan bahwa para tahanan aman, diberi makan, minum, dan memiliki akses ke penasihat hukum.
Tuduhan penganiayaan telah memicu kecaman internasional, menimbulkan pertanyaan tentang perlakuan mereka terhadap aktivis lingkungan Greta Thunberg.
