Serangan kali ini menargetkan kapal perusak milik Amerika Serikat (AS) serta dua kapal dagang di Laut Merah dan Laut Arab.
Juru Bicara Houthi Jenderal Yahya Saree menjelaskan, operasi terhadap kapal-kapal tersebut terbagi menjadi dua.
Operasi pertama menargetkan kapal perusak AS dan kapal Kapten Paris di Laut Merah menggunakan rudal.
Sementara operasi kedua menargetkan kapal Happy Condor di Laut Arab menggunakan drone.
"Unit rudal dan Angkatan Laut Angkatan Bersenjata Yaman kami melakukan dua operasi militer di Laut Merah," kata Yahya, dikutip dari SputnikGlobe, Selasa (18/6/2024).
Tidak jelas apakah serangan tersebut benar-benar tepat sasaran.
Pasalnya, hingga saat ini belum ada tanggapan dari AS atau perusahaan pemilik kapal yang diserang.
Namun sejak awal, Houthi telah bersumpah akan terus melanjutkan operasi di Laut Merah sebagai bentuk dukungan terhadap Gaza.
Militan tersebut menargetkan kapal-kapal yang berhubungan dengan Israel, termasuk AS dan Inggris.
