Turkey: 15 Arrested As Hundreds Attend Istanbul's Banned LGBTQ Pride MarchIn Turkiye, at least 15 people, who participated in a banned LGBTQ pride parade march in Istanbul, were arrested. Hundreds of people attended an impromptu pride march which was later intervened by the police. The protesters could march barely for ten minutes after which they had to disperse. The governor of Istanbul didn’t allow the community members to organize a parade. To stop the parade from happening, authorities blocked major roads and closed several metro stations.
