Nazi-Schiff mit gefährlicher Fracht: Darum könnte die Bergung die Lage verschärfen!In rund 150 Metern Tiefe vor Norwegens Küste liegt U-864, ein deutsches U-Boot aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg. Das Wrack zerbrach bei seiner Versenkung 1945 in zwei Teile. An Bord sollen bis zu 67 Tonnen Quecksilber gewesen sein. 2026 wurden 22 Quecksilberbehälter geborgen. Die Untersuchungen zeigen Schäden an den Behältern. Gleichzeitig ist das Sediment rund um das Wrack belastet. Experten stehen vor einem Dilemma: Eine Bergung könnte weitere Schadstoffe freisetzen. Deshalb wird eine dauerhafte Abdeckung des Wracks und des belasteten Meeresbodens empfohlen.
