Michael Sehr ist seit vielen Jahren in der Tierrettung aktiv. Bereits 2006 gründete er die „Tierambulance Ludwigshafen“, aus der sich die heutige Tierrettung Rhein-Neckar entwickelte. Seitdem gehören auch ungewöhnliche Einsätze zum Alltag der Tierretter.
Bundesweit bekannt wurde Sehr unter anderem durch die Rettung einer Ratte, die in einem Gullydeckel feststeckte. Auch Einsätze mit Wildtieren, Haustieren und exotischen Tieren gehören zum Einsatzspektrum der Tierrettung.
