Gedung Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Kota Makassar dibakar oleh massa demonstran hingga mengakibatkan tiga orang meninggal dunia.
Kepala Bagian Umum Sekretariat DPRD Kota Makassar, Dr. Muhajir, menuturkan peristiwa kebakaran tersebut saat ditemui Direktur Pemberitaan Tribun Network, Febby Mahendra Putra, di Gedung DPRD Makassar, Jalan Pettarani, Senin (8 September 2025).
Menurut Muhajir, kebakaran terjadi saat rapat paripurna pembahasan tahapan APBD Perubahan Makassar Tahun Anggaran 2025.
Rapat yang dimulai pukul 20.00 WITA tersebut dihadiri Wali Kota Makassar Munafri Arifuddin, Wakil Wali Kota Aliyah Mustika Ilham, dan para kepala dinas di lingkungan Pemerintah Kota Makassar.
"Wali Kota baru saja memulai sambutannya ketika tiba-tiba terdengar suara gemuruh dari depan. Sidang segera ditunda untuk menilai situasi," kata Muhajir.
Tak lama kemudian, massa menyerang dari depan gedung.
Anggota DPRD dievakuasi melalui pintu belakang yang berbatasan dengan permukiman. Namun, api dengan cepat menjalar, menghanguskan hampir seluruh gedung DPRD Makassar. Dalam kebakaran hebat tersebut, 65 mobil dan 20 sepeda motor hangus terbakar.
Api mencapai puncaknya sekitar pukul 22.00 WITA.
Muhajir sendiri mengaku masih trauma dengan kejadian tersebut. "Mobil dinas saya, Innova 2015, terbakar. Sampai sekarang, saya masih takut naik ke lantai dua," ujarnya.
Sidang paripurna terpaksa dihentikan.
Para peserta bahkan berganti pakaian resmi menjadi pakaian kasual untuk menghindari amukan para pengunjuk rasa. "Seluruh jalan penuh sesak, kerumunan besar," tambah Muhajir. (*)
