Panglima militer itu enggan menuruti perintah Netanyahu soal evakuasi warga Gaza ke kota kemanusiaan di Rafah.
Dilansir dari Middle East Eye pada Rabu (16/7), Zamir menilai rencana evakuasi warga Gaza itu tidak sesuai dengan tujuan perang.
Zamir menentang keras rencana Netanyahu tersebut dan vokal menyuarakan keberatannya.
Menurutnya ada banyak masalah terkait rencana tersebut.
Sikap panglima militer IDF itu kemudian mendapat kritikan dari Netanyahu sendiri.
Namun Zamir tetap menentang rencana Netanyahu soal pengusiran warga Gaza itu.
Menurut sumber-sumber politik, rencana Netanyahu tersebut dimaksudkan untuk melayani dua tujuan utama.
Tujuan pertama adalah memutuskan dan merawat penduduk sipil Gaza di bawah pengawasan.
Sedangkan tujuan kedua adalah menjauhkan mereka dari zona pertempuran, sekaligus memfasilitasi kemungkinan pertukaran tahanan atau melemahkan dukungan publik terhadap Hamas. (Tribun-Video.com)
